Covert Operations: Reserve Pool Reveal

We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming arrival of our summer expansion, Covert Operations, set to deploy on June 11th. With 87 brand new cards, 2 new innovative keywords, and several captivating themes, this expansion is set to redefine your battlefield strategies. As the new expansion takes flight, we launch a new reshuffle of Reserves. 96 cards from the active roster will transition into Reserves, while 24 cards from Reserves reclaim their positions in active duty.
What Are Reserves?
The Reserve pool houses cards exclusive to the "Classic" PvP mode, friendly challenges, and AI training sessions. These cards are ineligible for Ranked or Casual matches, Drafts, or Skirmishes.
Cards in Reserves are hand-picked, with new expansion cards safe from being rotated to Reserves for at least 1.5 years. Cards moved to the Reserve pool may also return to active duty with future expansions, possibly in altered forms.
Cards moving to Reserves stop dropping in Core card packs 4 weeks before they move into the Reserve pool. It’s still possible to create Reserved cards with wildcards, but you’ll receive a warning prompt as you do so.
Any cards you own that are Reserved can be recycled to add progress to your weekly crate. Note that Reserved cards are only visible in your Collection by ticking the “Reserved Cards” box at the bottom of your Filters menu in the Collection interface.
The Reserve pool serves as a mechanism to ensure a fresh and balanced gameplay experience while mitigating power creep and fostering inclusivity for new players.

Returning to Active Duty
With the launch of the Covert Operations expansion on June 11th, 24 cards currently in the Reserve pool return to the active card pool.
Note that 4 of these cards are returning to active duty to become part of our dedicated starter card pool. Cards in the starter pool are those you might find in starter decks or training campaigns. These cards are protected from rotating into Reserves. The starter pool provides additional clarity for new players, avoiding confusion when a new expansion arrives which can potentially alter existing starter decks. This is especially useful for returning players who may have played through the starter campaigns and come back to find their starter decks transformed. This addition ensures a stable foundation for new and returning players alike, fostering a smoother onboarding experience into the ever-evolving world of KARDS.
